Our baby pool for your little ones to play

The South Hadley Swim Club has been in operation since 1958. Many of our adult members today learned how to swim here as children. Membership requires a yearly fee and there are membership levels for singles, couples, seniors and families.
The South Hadley Swim Club is a not-for-profit, private recreational facility that operates during the summer months. The club season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Individuals and families pay a yearly fee to become members and those dues entitle members to full use of the facilities during operating hours, which is 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. after the school year ends in June. Until then, we are open 12:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. on weekends beginning Memorial Day. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Greater Holyoke YMCA handles the day-to-day operations. Approximately 175 memberships are comprised of individuals, couples and families from surrounding communities.
We are open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Weekends only until the end of the school year.
Our 2024 hours are:
First Weeks:
May 25-27: 12pm - 6pm
May 28 - 31: CLOSED
June 1-2: 12pm - 6pm
June 3-7: CLOSED
June 8-9: 12pm - 6pm
June 10-13: CLOSED
Regular Hours:
June 14 - Sept 2: 11am - 7:30pm
The facilities include a 25-yard swimming pool, a kiddie pool (for children 6 and under), basketball court, play structure with swings and slide, a picnic pavilion, a shaded picnic area, and a shower room/bathroom facility. There are gas barbecue grills available for use during pool hours and for parties.
There is no public access to the pool. It is only available to paid members and their documented guests.
The South Hadley Swim Club is managed by expert staff from the Greater Holyoke YMCA. The 25-yard pool is staffed with certified lifeguards and features a recreational swim area and a dedicated lap lane at the beginning of the day and after 5:00 p.m. Every hour during peak usage there is an adult swim. Lounge chairs are available on the deck surrounding the pool, making it easy for parents to keep an eye on their children in the pool and out on the grounds. Foam kick boards, goggles, and many water toys are available for use in the pool.
No food or drink is allowed inside the fenced area, other than water in non-breakable containers.
Multiple sports and activities are offered. Shuffleboard, foosball, ping-pong and a graffiti board are located close to the shower/restroom facility, easily monitored by parents relaxing poolside.
The outer grounds have a basketball court, a play gym structure with slide and swings, a volleyball area, tetherball, whiffle ball, corn hole and frisbee. Sports equipment is available on site for responsible use. Picnic dining is encouraged either under the pavilion or on the grassy areas throughout the grounds, and gas grills are available for those who wish to barbecue.
Members in good standing from the previous year who re-register by the cutoff date of April 15th heading into the new season are awarded 5 complimentary guest passes for their loyalty. Each spring, when preparations to open the club begin, members can also sign up to help out. Volunteers are given 2 free guest passes for every validated hour worked. When the Club opens for the season, guest passes may also be purchased at the facility.
No guest is permitted without a guest pass. Members must be present with their guest at all times and every guest must be introduced to the Lifeguard on Duty.
